About the company

iRage is one of India's leading high-frequency trading firms. We build and own everything in-house, from ultra-low-latency execution to our entire trading infrastructure. Our systems deliver some of the lowest latencies in the market, with order-send speeds under 100 nanoseconds - but the harder problem we've solved is keeping that latency low at scale. We run thousands of independent portfolios in parallel, carrying overnight positions across thousands of instruments, with tooling that coordinates state and information across hundreds of servers spanning multiple data centres in real time.

About the role

You will write and tune the C++ that sits on the critical path between the exchange and our strategies. The order gateway, the market data handlers and the risk checks are all built in-house, so changes you make ship to production in days rather than quarters.

The team is small and sits next to the traders it builds for. Latency budgets are measured in microseconds and every regression is visible the following session, which keeps the feedback loop short and the ownership clear.

What you will do

• Build and maintain low latency order entry and market data components across NSE, BSE and MCX.
• Profile hot paths, remove allocations and cache misses, and defend latency budgets release over release.
• Work directly with traders and quants to take strategy logic from research into production.
• Extend the pre-trade risk and position keeping layer as new products and venues are added.
• Support live trading sessions and investigate anything the system does that it was not asked to do.

Must have

• Three or more years writing production C++ (14 or later) on Linux.
• A working understanding of memory layout, concurrency and the cost of a system call.
• Comfort with networking fundamentals, TCP and UDP multicast, and kernel bypass if you have used it.
• Strong problem solving and a habit of measuring before changing.
• Exchange, trading or other latency sensitive experience is useful but not required.

Good to have

• Experience on current-gen Xilinx architectures (UltraScale+, Versal).
• Cryptographic cores / accelerators.
• Low-latency networking or trading-systems background.
